With the collapse in the U.S. real estate market many investors are looking to the overseas markets to try and make a profit. High oil prices have kept values up in energy producing locations one of which is Dubai. With Dubai oil maintaining it's huge appeal.. this theme sets to continue.
There are many things to consider in overseas investing let’s look at just a few. Dubai has recently introduce new rules regarding the use of off shore holing companies for land purchases. These have established free zones that allow for tax advantages to companies holding Dubai property from jurisdictions such as the British Virgin Islands. There are some set up costs and annual fees but the savings on large investments can be substantial. They are complicated and require a registered agent in Dubai but they are readily available.
Dubai was one of the first middle eastern nations to embrace foreign investment in their markets but there are still location restrictions on the areas foreigners can purchase. Despite these restrictions recent returns are averaging 8 to 10 % per year.
